Relax

Took time out yesterday to visit “Surfers”. Had lunch at the Four Winds Restaurant on top of the Crowne Plaza Resort. We had a great time with terrific views (we thought) of the Gold Coast. It is Queenslands only revolving restaurant. What a way to spend an afternoon, a seafood and asian buffet, a nice wine, and in the 2+ hrs we were there, rotated about 3 times.
But then, took a short trip to the new Q1 tower, the tallest residential tower in the world. The observation deck is 230mtrs high. It took the lift 43 seconds to get there. 9mtr/sec or 32kph.
The view is breathtaking. We thought it was good at the revolving restaurant, this was much better. Views from Brisbane to Coolangatta, and the Hi-rises at Surfers all looked tiny from up there. Of course we checked out the poolside furniture on the rooftops pools around us (we’re tragic really). $16.50 entry was worth it.
Also dropped into the Sofitel for a look at some things, and finished off with a quiet beer in Broadbeach mall.
