PipeDream sunlounges for sale – slightly used

We have about 10 PipeDream sunlounges for sale – secondhand.

All repairs have been done, and the slings are in pretty good shape – Cheap sunlounges with a lot of life in them if you want them.

A post-Christmas edit – Just 2 of these left – @ $140 with brand-new slings – that’s under ½ the new price.

The Repairman

It’s been a tumultuous couple of weeks as we have taken an exciting new direction.
The Repairman has been servicing the Gold Coast since 1984. Josh, the current owner, came to us with a proposal, and we are now the proud new owners of the truck, website and all manner of stock & equipment.
We have been servicing the Gold Coast for quite a while anyway, but this will give us new capabilities and a chance to continue the relationship with his customers.
That’s been happening already, and I can’t wait to get the new equipment operational.

Support for New Beginnings

A part of our business is taken up with making trolleys for hospitals and aged care homes. We had some excess floor stock recently, so we decided to donate them to a project that our Church is involved in. The “New Beginnings Childrens Village” has been built in Zambia, and is showing some really positive results. Read more about it here.

The 7 or so trolleys will be used either in the childrens village, or maybe in the associated hospital.

Derek, Leah and I put some time into cleaning them up, making sure all the wheels were strong and ready to make the journey in a container.

Some were laundry bag trolleys, some utility trolleys. I believe the hospital was going to benefit from the locked compartments and drawers on the trolleys to help with the security of medications etc in the wards.

We dropped them off to David and Ros Van Der Vooren, so they could be transferred to Ashmore, then Brisbane, then by sea container to Zambia. The generosity of the Gold Coast was evidenced by David & Ros’s bulging sheds.

We would find it very difficult to donate $4,000 -odd in cash, but as our manufactured product, and some dated models, we were pleased see that someone will get real benefit.

SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre

Pleased to have supplied sunlounges to the new SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Oaklands Park. It opens 26th april, and should be a fantastic new venue for Adelaide.

Fibreglass tabletops

Fibreglass tabletops have long been the standard-bearer of longevity with harsh outdoor coastal conditions, and we’ve always taken pride in the product we put out.
Last year, we went through a period when supply was slow, and we had a battle to get the quality we need from the supplier we were using. Change was needed.
Consequently, we’ve just been through a fairly expensive and time-consuming process of upgrading the moulds, and also engaging a good fibreglasser. Much happier with the output now. Excellent quality, flow-coated on the back and dependable in production time.
We have had to rationalise the sizes available, but the overall end result is much better.
I will be upgrading the pictures and info on the Fibreglass Tables page over the next few weeks.

Furniture bought 7 1/2 years ago

Visited a couple of resorts in Byron Bay on the weekend. One wanted another 4 sunlounges to add to the 12 they bought in November 2003.

Look at them. They still look brand new! They also bought 24 chairs back then, and they still have the original slings on them, and no repairs have had to be done in all that time. That’s pretty good! It’s a well-used Byron resort (The Oasis), so they are not “kept in cotton-wool”. I made them myself .

Leah and I also delivered some balcony furniture this morning to another Resort in Surfers Paradise. We were recommended by the management to one of the apartment owners, mainly because the poolside furniture we delivered 2 years ago (20/2/09) has given no problems at all. Not a cent has been spent in maintenance or repairs. It still looks brand new.This is what we aim for, and take pride in.

In contrast, we also visited a large building in Surfers today. They have a large number of aluminium framed sunlounges (not bought from us), less than a year old, and they contacted us to be ready for a maintenance program that will be needed soon. Bolts are rusting already and the (imported) slings won’t take long to fray.

If you want commercial grade furniture that’s comfortable, looks good, and is great long term value, you can’t do better than Coastal Casual Furniture.

We offer a variety of styles and outside brands, but for all-round performance, I absolutely recommend the premium, thick-walled Pvc poolside furniture that we manfacture, as the strongest, and hardiest, and the best.

The examples above reminded me.

Pipedream sunlounges

There are a lot of sunlounges like these out there. They are a strong and solid alternative, in fairly popular use, but the manufacturer closed down recently.
Well, we have them back in production.
If you want to buy more to keep the numbers up around the pool, or want a no-nonsense sunlounge that will stand up to heavy use, consider this one.
We have an excellent warranty in place for commercial use and they are priced for good value.

Preferred Supplier to the Accommodation Industry

A happy client recommended us to the Australian Managers Guide, which led us to becoming a “Preferred Supplier to the Accomodation Industry”.
Each supplier is nominated by an Accommodation Manager and is then qualified through a secondary questionaire process to ensure that they are able to provide the high levels of service required and expected by other Accommodation Managers. Suppliers on this database can be located in the Preferred Supplier Directory, which is published in every issue of “The Accommodation Managers Guide“

Daylight Savings trading times

We will be trading on Queensland time, which means we have not altered the clock for daylight savings.
We are located just south of the QLD/NSW border, and although it’s a NSW address, most of our local customer base is in QLD.
You might also notice that we have a QLD area code for the telephone (07) as well as a NSW postcode (2486).
Confusing? Can be.
